Books: June TBR

I know we’re already a week in, but here’s this months TBR pile. I’m possibly being a little too optimistic here, but I have 5 books on the list. One of which is an ebook, and not pictured…

Instead of a re-read this month, I’ve got two recommendations instead. One from each parent – can you guess which is which?

Continuing A Series

First up was Lola and the Boy Next Door. I’ve actually already finished this (read it in a day!) and I loved it. Can’t go wrong with a bit of YA, right? I’ve also finally got Heir of Fire on the list, after finishing the first two earlier in the year. I loved the world and the story line, so I’m excited to see where this one takes us. I’m around 60 pages in so far.

Did you guess correctly? Somewhere Inside of Happy is my mum’s pick. It’s about a woman who loses her son, and it sounds interesting. I haven’t read an adult contemporary for a while so it’ll be a nice change I think. The other recommendation – The Camelot Code – is my dad’s choice. Obviously. When he asked me if I wanted to read it, my initial reaction was no. He likes Historical books and well, I’ve never really loved them. This one seems to be very mystery and crime based, with the historical bits mixed throughout, so I’m going to try it. I may surprise myself!

The eBook

I just watched Me Before You at the cinemas, and it was great. I remember loving the book way back when I first read it, and the sequel After You came out this year so I want to carry that on whilst the film is still fresh in mind!

What are you reading this month? Send me links if you’ve written a TBR post!

  • I’m currently reading Always With Love by Giovanna Fletcher and I’ve got some of the Mortal Instruments books to go onto after that. I love it when you find a book that you can read in no time at all, definitely want to try Lola And The Boy Next Door! :) xxx

    • Ah, I really need to pick that one up. I forgot to pre-order, and I just haven’t had the chance! Lola is definitely good for that – Anna and the French Kiss is the first though, if you haven’t read it you should! So much better than Lola x

  • I really need to finish the Anna & the French Kiss series! I heard that the next two are really badly written though and it’s putting me off ):

    • Hmm whilst I don’t think it was as good as Anna, I still enjoyed Lola! I think Anna was just on a whole different level though haha! x
