Books: March TBR

I haven’t set myself a monthly reading goal for a while, but I really want to get these books read and I’m hoping this will give me a little motivation. I’ll be on holiday from 6th-13th, so that’s plenty of time to read these books!

Spring

I’m half way through this one, and seeing as we’re now in March and Spring is (hopefully) on it’s way I figured that this month will be the perfect time to finish it off. This book shouldn’t take me long, and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the contributions!

Half Bad & Half Wild

I tried to read Half Wild in February but realised after a page or so that I had no idea what was going on. Looking back at the Half Bad review that I wrote (way back in 2014!) it seems like I enjoyed it well enough, but I just couldn’t remember a thing. This month’s challenge is to re-read Half Bad and then read Half Wild. I’m also going to start completing a re-read every month. More about that in another post!

The Girl on the Train

I’ve been reading this book from the beginning of February. Yep. It is taking forever! I put it down for a couple of weeks, and in that time my mum read it. She said it was worth reading, so I picked it back up and I’m still only getting through a couple of chapters a week… I’m half way through it now, and I feel like I’ve invested so much time in this book that I just have to finish it. This one is first on the list. I was so excited to start this one after all the hype it was given last year, but it’s a bit of a disappointment so far for me!

Others

I do have a few ready on my kindle to take on holiday, so I’ll include whatever I read there in a big monthly round up at the end of March. I definitely want to do this regularly because I’m thinking it will give me more motivation to read. And I do enjoy reading, I’m just finding it difficult to shut off from social media lately – that obviously needs to change! What are you reading this month?

  • Hollie Byrne

“The Girl on the Train” is absolutely amazing, I read and reviewed it last year and would recommend it to absolutely everyone! You’re going to love it! Enjoy your challenge!

    • Thank you! I only really enjoyed the ending, which is a shame! The rest of the book was far too slow for me.

  • Li

Reading more books was one of my new years resolutions this year and being a slow reader, I’m getting there, slowly but surely. Setting individual goals each month is a good idea as it means it doesn’t seem as daunting from the outset. I’ve not heard of half bad or half wild, but will have a look at them and maybe add them to my own list. I’ve heard The Girl on the Train is amazing, so that’s a shame you aren’t enjoying it so far. I hope it gets better for you! Li :)

    • Yep, smaller goals definitely feel more achievable! The end of the book was good – it definitely picked up pace. Shame about the beginning haha! Thanks!

I’m intrigued by ‘Spring’ might have to take a look at it!
I’m currently catching up with the Throne of Glass series, then I have no idea what I want to read. I have way too many books in my TBR list – I think I need to work out some sort of ‘name in a hat’ method of choosing!

    • Oh I’ve read the first two of that series, and really need to get the rest. Trying not to buy any new books though :’) I’ve seen a lot of people put book names in a jar and do it that way!

  • Jordan Burrell

I’ve set a goal of reading more books this month…I have a couple to get me going! Hope you have a fab holiday :] I also love your layout…bloody gorgeous! x

    • Ah thank you, that means a lot! Good luck with your reading goal! (:
