I have seen this now on quite a few blogs that I follow and have been enjoying reading their answers so I thought I’d give it a go!
1. What is your favourite book?
My favourite book was always Prisoner of Azkaban, right up until Deathly Hallows. Now I haven’t read the books in over 3 years now (I am definitely due a re-read!) so this could have changed but I’d have to go with Deathly Hallows. It’s the final one and it ties everything up.
2. What is your favourite film?
Ooh, this has got to be a tie between Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows Pt 2. DH because of the reason above, it’s just the ending. HBP is an unpopular choice I think, and I don’t love it for the story – I just love it because it has so many hilarious moments. This one just makes me giggle.
3. What is your least favourite book?
Order of the Phoenix… If Harry had just listened to Hermione then Sirius wouldn’t be dead. Yeah, that’s all I think in that book. XD
4. What is your least favourite film?
It’s got to be Chamber of Secrets. I don’t know why but I’ve never really liked that film. If I’m having a film marathon I’ll often skip that one… Oops.
5. What parts of the books/films made you cry?
Oh so many! I cried more during the films (the first scenes in DH1 had me going!) but I definitely cried at all the big deaths in the books.
6. If you could hook up with any character who would it be?
Hmm, Charlie Weasley? Working with dragons sounds awesome…
7. Who is your favourite character?
I can’t even choose a favourite. I love McGonagall so maybe I’ll go with her. Plus, she’s a cat. Really though, each character brings something different to the story and it’s hard to pick one who really stands out.
8. Who is your least favourite character?
It has got to be Umbridge. Ugh, she’s so horrible. I feel sorry for Imelda Staunton because she was perfect for Umbridge and I’m not sure whether that’s an insult or not hahah!
9. What is your least favourite line?
I can’t think of any line that I really dislike. Can I tell you my favourite line instead, even though it’s from one of the films?
“You may not like him, Minister, but you can’t deny: Dumbledore’s got styleeeee.”
10. What would your patronus be?
Probably a cat…
11. If you could have the resurrection stone, invisibility cloak or elder wand which would you chose?
Definitely the invisibility cloak – I’d love to just be able to disappear sometimes!
12. Which house would you be in?
Ravenclaw – I used to think Slytherin was cool when I first read the books (oh, over 10 years ago now – wow!) and then obviously my brain took over and brought me to Ravenclaw. Pottermore sorted me into Ravenclaw too so it must be true ;)
13. If you could meet any member of the cast who would it be?
Gary Oldman. I love Gary Oldman. Or Helena Bonham Carter. Or Emma Watson.
14. If you were on the Quidditch team which position would you play?
I think I’d be a chaser – seekers need a lot more concentration and I think I’d get bored waiting for the snitch to appear! Also not mean enough to be a beater hahah, I’d feel bad knocking people off brooms!
15. Were you happy with the ending?
Yes and no. I thought everything was brilliant in the books and it felt complete, but there’s the problem – it was complete. I just want more!
16. How much does Harry Potter mean to you?
It pretty much defines my childhood/teenage years. I would read every book before each new film came out (check out my battered paperbacks above – the plastic on Gof is half off!) so I pretty much spent my spring/summer in Hogwarts and then the rest of the year pining for the new book/film to be released. I know I can just pick up any book and get right back into the world. The films also helped me with revision from high school to university – I would play them in the background and the sound would help me to concentrate. It just worked.
If you haven’t done it already, then I tag you ;)
The temptation to re-read is so high right now… Must finish TBR shelf!
