May 12th was the first day of the Race For Life races, and they were happening in a few towns spread across the UK. My mum and I are taking part in the Pennington Flash race in June, and so we decided to volunteer at this one as it was also close to where we live!
It was a really great day, and now I’m even more excited to do my own run! I was handing out medals and it was nice to see the people finishing!
I only took a few photos on the day as I was working most of it, but here they are!

The Race For Life is an amazing day and race – the atmosphere is always great! Everyone really does come together, and when you see people finishing the race and looking so pleased with themselves it gives you a good feeling! Even better is the feeling after having run the race yourself!
The rain also managed to hold off until the race was finished, which was good! I really would recommend that anyone did it. You don’t have to be an amazing runner – you can walk or jog if you want! A lot of women seem to finish between 30-40 minutes from what I’ve noticed, but then you always get the super fast ones, and those that are just taking it really easy! You even get kids running, kids being pushed in prams and even dogs running with their owners! It really is for everyone.
