#49 Try 10 new-to-me restaurants 4/10
For my aunties birthday meal we chose to go to Chiquitos. A place with good veggie/vegan options, and the fact that I get 25% off food with my Cinepass helped the decision… A lot of us had never been before actually. I went for a chimichanga: “A golden fried tortilla filled with Mexican spiced rice, refried beans, jalapeño cheese sauce, melted mozzarella and five bean chilli.” Oh it was so good. So, so good. Then my mum and I shared the lemon drizzle cake for dessert. Also amazing.
#4 Have a Spa Day
Another birthday trip! We went to the Last Drop Spa for my sister’s birthday in July and had a full spa day with massage. I would definitely recommend this place. It was super relaxing, the facilities were great and the hotel itself was lovely. In the spa area there were 5 different kinds of steam/sauna room and a thermal pool with a view outside. Would go again right now if I could.
#6 Get A Piercing
Something I’ve been wanting to do for ages – get a helix piercing. It’s still healing, and I’m pretty sure I could try to change the ring but I’m a little scared… Also I must have slept on it funny the other day because I woke with blood on my pillow. It isn’t painful now though I know it still has a way to go before being completely healed. I still love it.
#31 Try Tofu
I finally bought myself some tofu, but decided to go for a ‘pre-made’ style with flavouring. I triedcauldron tofu and to be honest I wasn’t a fan of the texture. I may have just overcooked it though. I feel like this is something I need to try in a restaurant where I know it’ll be cooked proper.
I’ve completed 16 in total, which really isn’t a lot is it? But some of them have been big things (like get a job within media, get writing published, attend graduation etc) so I don’t feel too bad about it. Plenty of time to go yet!
